General French or Mobilité Francophone?

The language in Canada is an indispensable requirement to emigrate. In this country, not only English is spoken, but also French, a beautiful and useful language when applying for a temporary or permanent visa. Therefore, to learn this language for migratory purposes and to come through the multiple and diverse routes that Canada offers, two particular academic programs have been developed that applicants should know: the General French and the Mobilité Francophone.

Both designs cover vocabulary, grammar, conversation and everything you learn in any language, but they have two features that can make the difference in your visa approval: the focus and level required according to your migratory route.

This sounds a bit complicated if you don't know much about it, but don't worry, today I'm going to introduce you to the differences between the two academic designs to help you choose the French program that best suits your visa application. Let's get started!

General French Program - Level CLB 7

This design focuses on general grammar as applied to everyday and academic communication in Canada. The General French Program prepares the student with a specific focus on the speaking, listening, reading and speaking skills required for college. college or university, it is also the most suitable for obtaining points in immigration processes such as Express Entry.

This fast-track entry system handles applications for the general rounds of three immigration programs. three immigration programs which take into account language proficiency, both English and French, among other requirements, and for the specific rounds, where French is taken into account as a special category. This is why this General French Program is sometimes referred to as French for Express Entry.

Each course was created taking into account the levels of linguistic competence in French according to the NCLC scale (Niveau de Compétence Linguistique Canadienne).Niveau de Compétence Linguistique Canadienne)/BLC (Canadian Language Benchmark), in order to develop the communication skills necessary for a general French that will allow them to develop their lives in Canada.

Thus, through our General French Program you will be able to acquire the following levels:

  1. Débutant
  2. Élémentaire
  3. Pré-Intermédiaire
  4. Intermédiaire

At the end of the last course, they will speak French at an academic and immigration level CLB 7 (B2) which will allow them to apply for their temporary visa as students or by Express Entry and live in any province in Canada, including Quebec, depending on the immigration route they choose and if they meet all IRCC requirements.

However, the following French program takes them to another level and migration route, since it does not include the French-speaking province of Quebec. Let's see what it is.

Mobilité Francophone Program - Level CLB 5

Canada promotes international mobility by economic means through the Mobilité Francophone Program and has designated the work category for foreign nationals with a moderate command of French (intermediate CLB 5), in all occupations except primary agriculture. In addition, they must reside outside Quebec.

The idea is to promote the French language in French-speaking minority communities while making applicants eligible for permanent residency.

How to reach the French required for the Mobilité Francophone?

Planeta Immiland has this program available designed as an intensive course. intensive course course of 15 weeks per level and is aimed at those who wish to arrive ready to stand out in their job interviews..

This course leads them to speak conversational French so that they can demonstrate to an immigration officer that they meet the French language proficiency requirements (speaking and listening) at a CLB/NCLC 5 level or higher required for Labor Market Impact Assessment (LMIA) workers on closed work permits.

The Mobilité Francophone Program leads you to develop skills to participate in discussions and express opinions on current issues, as well as to read and write simple texts, such as informal e-mails, service notes and much more.

Do you know how to write pro level emails? Here is a formula. Remember that the two official languages of Canada are English and French.

In our experience, we have found that a student can achieve CBL 5 in approximately three months or 12 weeks, as long as he or she puts in three hours a day. Best of all, once you achieve French CLB 5, you will have fulfilled the first visa requirement!
