R RESIDENT NEXT.
STEP 1 · WORK PERMIT
FRANCOPHONE MOBILITY (C16)
- No LMIA is required, so hiring you is faster and less expensive for your employer
- French speaking and listening at NCLC Level 5 or higher
- A job offer in almost any occupation (TEER 0–5), outside Quebec
- Your employer submits the offer through IRCC's Employer Portal
- Your spouse may be eligible for an open work permit
STEP 2 · PERMANENT RESIDENCE
EXPRESS ENTRY FRENCH DRAWS
- Special admission rounds for strong French speakers, with lower cutoff scores
- French at NCLC 7 in all four skills
- You must be eligible for an Express Entry program, such as the Canadian Experience Class
- French also earns you extra CRS points in every drawing
- Canadian work experience from C16 can count toward eligibility
