If you're thinking about immigrating to Canada, keep in mind that this country has two official languages: English and French, and you must speak at least one of them.
Those who emigrate with only Spanish as their language face great hardship because they are unable to enter the job market or pursue further education.
Spanish is spoken in Canada within families; the government and employers need to be sure they’ll be able to communicate with you without any problems, and this is only possible if you speak their language well.
Unlike in the United States, here it’s essential to speak English and/or French to work, study, adapt to the environment, and obtain permanent residency. French is even more advantageous for successfully applying to immigration programs.
If you want to succeed in Canada but haven't yet mastered its languages, I invite you to learn about our new study format with personalized classes that can accelerate your learning at your own pace and according to your goals.
Read along with me until the end and discover the perfect plan for you.
A personalized learning path to help you make faster progress in the language
Our customized itinerary tailored to your goals is conducted one-on-one with the teacher and consists of a comprehensive plan ranging from 5 to 30 hours, depending on the student’s needs.
Plans:
- 5 hours: One-on-one review sessions, interview preparation, or trial classes.
- 10 hours: Specific objectives and very short-term goals.
- 15 hours: General review or intensive exam preparation.
- 30 hours: Continuous progress and strong support over the medium term.
The number of hours is the total; the student signs up for a one-on-one plan with the teacher and can adjust the frequency according to their needs, for example:
- Take 2 hours a day, 3 times a week.
- Take them every day.
- Or just 1 hour a day for a certain number of days a week.
One-on-one interaction with the teacher
The teacher explores your concerns and adapts to individual differences, such as age and interests, to plan the content and teaching methods:
- Middle-aged adults Designed for professionals with busy schedules and using andragogical learning methods.
- Young adults who are looking for a dynamic approach focused on rapid academic and social integration.
This is how we create a space where you can connect closely with what you need to learn in order to quickly excel in your goals.
Our personalized plan consists of four phases
- Written Placement Test: We identify your technical starting point.
- Hour package: You choose the intensity based on your schedule.
- Oral assessment with the instructor: Very useful for adapting the curriculum.
- Customized Study Plan: Based on your previous results, we’ll create a personalized study plan for you that includes priority topics, recommended frequency, and suggested resources.
Why Choose Personalized Language Classes During Your Immigration Process?
Not everyone who learns English or French to immigrate to Canada is looking for the same thing. Here are several learning profile approaches that will help you figure out what you’re looking for:
- Academic Profile: If you want to get into a Canadian university and score high on standardized tests, the focus will be on academic language and technical writing.
- Job Profile: If you're looking for a job at a call center or in your field, we prioritize spoken fluency and technical vocabulary specific to your industry. Here, is the key for writing your resume to Canadian standards and mock interviews.
- Residency or Citizenship Profile: If you are already in Canada and seeking to regularize your status, the course will focus on the skills required by the government to demonstrate integration and language proficiency.
- People who are currently in Canada and need a minimum score to obtain citizenship: In these cases, it’s natural that they already have a good command of the language, so personalized instruction focuses on helping them achieve the best possible results on the CELPIP exam.
Courses with a Focus on Migration in Canada
At Planeta Immiland, we focus on language instruction for Canadian immigration. That’s why our teachers know how to tailor the curriculum to the processes involved in obtaining permanent residency.
They determine the point allocation for each skill in language skills for your Express Entry profile (the system for direct entry into the country). They know that if your partner is excellent at speaking French but struggles with writing, they’ll lose points in that specific “category”—and so on with every step of your application process.
IMPORTANT! Please note that not all English and French courses offered by language schools in Canada focus on immigration-related topics.
These factors are very specific, and the academy and its instructors must be trained on the requirements so that they can help you effectively.
In fact, if they have the Languages Canada , so much the better. This is the organization that stands for certified language learning par excellence.
The Difference Between a Group Class and a Private Lesson
The group classes encourage social interaction and collaborative learning; they generally cover a wide range of topics and achieve broad results, but one-on-one classes are tailored to the student in terms of hours, days, content, and outcomes, and the results are achieved based on what the student needs to reach their goals.
According to Languages Canada standards, when learning one-on-one with a teacher, response times are faster and progress is quicker in a real-world context.
What comes next after mastering the language?
Once your language proficiency has been certified through international tests (IELTS, CELPIP, TEF, TCF), you can begin gathering the immigration documents required by the government and seek specialized advice on the immigration process for Canada.
Backed by an internationally recognized test, you can demonstrate the proficiency that governments, employers, and universities are looking for, so you can start making your dreams come true without the language barrier.
